God rays were not an issue for me in either headset (both do a really good job blocking light, there is no nose gap whatsoever). I didn't notice any difference in black levels between the two.
Anything located between 10-20 degrees from the centre of the view looks sharper on the G1.Īt the periphery (outer 20 degrees of FOV or so), both headsets are blurry to the point of large text being unreadable (but this is true for every headset I've ever tried).Ĭolours are noticeably more saturated on the G2. The G2 has a smaller sweet spot, with ghosting and chromatic aberration kicking in a little bit further from the periphery. The G2 is a little sharper when looking dead ahead into the sweet spot. I used the G1 as my main headset for about a year, mostly playing flight sims, and got a G2 last week.
